Teaching objective

The course is intended to teach the basics of software engineering and initial experience with teamwork.

Content

Principles and concepts of software engineering, basic techniques of software specification, structured and object-oriented approaches to the analysis, design and implementation of systems, concepts of modern programming languages, design patterns, prototyping, software ergonomic principles, software life cycle models, function point method for estimating a project scope.

The integrated Software Engineering course includes the Software Engineering project in addition to the lecture.

Assessment and Examination

Teaching forms:

• 2 SWS lecture
• 4 SWS exercise

Examination: 

• Written exam
• Project work (report/documentation & presentation)
