Julian Oertel, M.Sc.

Julian Oertel studied computer science at the University of Rostock and completed his master's degree with a thesis on planning heterogeneous data traffic in time-sensitive networks. The core of the thesis was the modeling of TSN networks by the so-called Network Calculus and a simulation using the simulator OMNeT++.
He is now pursuing a PhD at the Chair of Software Engineering, where relevant research areas include Software Comprehension, Code Summarization, and Human Factors in Software Development. A special role is given to emerging AI techniques, such as large-language models, which may have the potential to accelerate and simplify software development.
